Ethnographic Museum
This museum is 130 metres away from the Cathedral. When you exit cross Handschoenmarkt and turn right into Oude Koornmarkt and then go straight on to Suikerrui.
In the ethnographic museum the non-European cultures are the main focus. A wide range of works of art and objects in daily use sketch the way of life and thought of known and less known peoples of Africa, America, Asia, and Oceania. Besides, a number of world famous unique items that belong to the collection are introduced thematically. Highlights include sculptures and masks from Africa and Oceania, feather headdress from South America, paintings and sculptures of India and Tibet, drawings and lacquer work from China and Japan, and an especially rich collection of textiles from a great variety of different peoples.

Museum Mayer van den Bergh
The museum is 770 metres away from the Cathedral. When you exit turn left into Jan Blomstraat, go diagonally across the Groenplaats and left into Schoenmarkt. Than go straight over Meirbrug, turn right into Huidevettersstraat and at the end of it turn left into Lange Gasthuisstraat.
Fritz Mayer van den Bergh (1858-1901) assembled an entire whole museum. Through his efforts a stream of masterpieces from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period moved to Antwerp because of him. Paintings, sculptures, tapestries, drawings, stained-glass windows,... found their permanent place in a warm homely environment adapted to historical style. In each room the collector knows how to seduce you with his fine taste, his extra-ordinary knowledge and his eye for quality.
