The ship of Amalfi
Nederlands Français Deutsch English

In January 2004 eight ladies of the volunteer organisation ADFAS (Antwerp Decorative and Fine Arts Society), started cleaning the small Ship of Amalfi, a silver relic shrine with a relic of the patron saint Andrew, under competent direction of restorer Evelien Van Biezen. This impressive shrine was made by Jos Junes in 1929 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of St. Andrew's church. In 2004, on the 475th anniversary of the church, the ship was restored to its old glory.
